Queen Mary 2
Queen Mary 2® Overview
In January 2004, Queen Mary 2 made her debut as a Queen among Queens, a worthy successor to such great transatlantic liners as Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth and today's Queen Elizabeth 2.
Once the only bridge between Europe and America, these graceful leviathans have earned their own place in history. They helped to shape the social and economic climates of their day by providing an opulent lifestyle for celebrities and tastemakers, transporting millions of emigrants to find new lives in the New World, and serving their country during both world wars.
The magnificent new Queen Mary 2 will carry this heritage into the 21st century. Stylish, grand and representing the pinnacle of maritime achievement, she is destined to become an icon of our time.
Dining
There is a team of outstanding chefs and 10 dining venues in all, including the innovative Mediterranean cuisine of the Todd English restaurant. As with the custom of ocean liners in the past, each Queen Mary 2 stateroom is matched with a reserved table at a sea-view restaurant, complemented by the largest wine selection afloat. Of course, you can always make reservations at one of the many optional dining alternatives. Or don't dine out - dine in! Room service is available 24 hours a day - complimentary of course!

TransAtlantic Crossing Aug 7, 2008
Southampton, England - 8/2008
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys the ship as the destination as there are no stops between NYC and Southampton, England. It was divine.
What an exquisite experience! The Queen Mary 2 sparkled brightly across the North Atlantic. The departure from the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal was celebrated with Veuve Cliquot champagne on deck. While I had a superb massage, we passed under the Verrazano Bridge, out into the Atlantic. Days were filled with lectures from noted historians, teas, the casino, spa treatments, and superb cuisine. The Planetarium shows were very interesting.
The Queens Room ballroom was a trip back into the 1930s era. The bands were very inviting and danceable. I felt like Ginger Rogers on that dance floor. It was so romantic, with single ladies like myself enjoying the gentleman hosts who were divine dancers.
Evening entertainment was very good: dance shows, singers, and a comedian/pianist added to our enjoyment. One could also rock out in the G32 disco.
The six dogs and three cats who also crossed were housed in the kennel on Deck 12. They were happy to arrive!
Pros: Cunard History, timeless elegance, exceptional service
Cons: 18' waves off west coast of Ireland
