OCEANIA CRUISES PARTNERS WITH ‘WINE SPECTATOR’ MAGAZINE FOR NEW FLAGSHIP ‘MARINA’

MIAMI, April 12, 2010 — When she debuts in January 2011, Oceania Cruises’ new Marina will feature La Reserve by Wine Spectator, where guests can learn about and sample fine wines selected by the connoisseurs at Wine Spectator magazine.

This new wine-tasting center will be home to a series of educational seminars and tastings so guests can better appreciate the nuances of the varietals in the regions where Marina sails. Select evenings during each voyage, seven-course, gourmet tasting menus paired with fine wines will also be offered. Although there is no charge for the food and service, wines are additional.

Situated high atop the ship on Deck 12, La Reserve sports a sophisticated, yacht club décor with seating for 24 guests as well as an al fresco patio boasting panoramic views. As part of the pioneering partnership, the wine list in the ship’s Grand Dining Room will also feature daily red and white wine recommendations from magazine editors which are perfectly paired with the evening’s menu offerings.

“Oceania Cruises is excited to launch this industry-first enrichment program in cooperation with Wine Spectator magazine,” stated Bob Binder, the line’s president. “Marina is truly a ship for epicureans. Complementing our acclaimed cuisine with the ideal wines is the ultimate enrichment for our gourmand guests.”

“The team at Oceania Cruises is comprised of food and wine aficionados,” said Marvin Shanken, CEO and chairman of Wine Spectator. “We are proud to be working with them to provide a wine experience that befits the finest culinary experience found at sea.”

Oceania Caribbean Pearls

Caribbean - 3/2009

My Oceania experience was beyond all expectations.  Oceania has found the perfect niche in cruise travel.  From their excellent staff, fabulous food, perfect accommodations, and excellent itineraries, Oceania has defined perfection in sailing!

Boarding was quick, room was not quite ready so we went to dining room and made reservations for specialty restaurants.

Polo Grille and Tuscana were both beyond superb.  Service and quality of food was the best I've ever experienced on a ship.

Accommodations were perfect.  Great beds, and even though the rooms were smaller, they were more than adequate.

Pool area was delightful.  People on the cruise were wonderful.

We took several shore excursions and they were all fabulous. The ports were unique and had many options to offer when we disembarked.

Crew was unbelievable.  The entertainment and group activities were well received and attended by a majority of the passengers.

The ship was very clean and the staff was very attentive.

I would recommend an Oceania Cruise to anyone.  It is not family oriented, but there were a few small children on the ship and they seemed to be having a great time.

Pros: Everything!!!

Cons: None!

Relaxed Luxury for Experienced Explorers!

Asia - 2/2007

With lengthy itineraries and less than 700 passengers, this is great for those that prefer using a cruise vessel for exploring the world!  Not many ships are built for 'independant' travelers as much as Nautica.  Like the other Oceania ships, Nautica offers such a casual elegance that you feel the entire ship is your home and each location on the ship is just around the corner!

More than any ship, the photos in the brochure match the experience onboard.  The midsize offers the variety of public rooms of a larger vessel without the crowds of the megaliners.  The ship sells out quickly since the best rates and itineraries generally are announced to travel agents and past passengers more than 18 months prior to commencement so it's important to book early.   Public rooms and staterooms are well maintained.  The ship is particularly good because she calls on smaller ports.  The port calls generally allow long days in port and a wide variety of shore excursions so the quiet evenings are welcome.

Pros: A great ship to explore the world where the days onboard are quiet, casual, and conveniently luxurious. Dining in the alternative dining rooms are great although the Tapas on the back deck gives spectacular service and variety. All categories of staterooms offer nice layouts, amenities, and service. Having laundry rooms available for guests makes packing light a breeze!

Cons: It is very difficult to get into the 'alternative' dining rooms for staterooms other than conceirge or suites. The 24 hour station for juice, coffee, and teas is not kept replenished with supplies as needed. Staterooms far forward and far aft are affected by ship motion a great deal. Since there is very little in regard to onboard entertainment and activites, this ship is not good for those looking for Vegas type shows or hosted activities.

Rio to Buenos Aires - 12/2006

Overall, the ship was wonderful, just the right size at around 650 pax.  Staff was attentive and pleasant.

Boarding the ship in Rio habor was a snap, I waited about 10 minutes with no lines at all.  I was escorted to my cabin and invited to dine for lunch.  I loved the library and spent warm days on deck reading and snoozing in between ports.  The casino was adequate.  Entertainment was OK but not stunning.  High tea daily at 4 - 5 pm was soothing if one enjoys chamber music.  The Polo Grill & Toscany restaurants (rez required) did not charge extra and I loved the lobster in both.  The tiramisu in Toscany was superb.  Laundry area:  crowded with only about 5 washers/dryers.

The disco after dinner was not usually crowded but played a variety of music which appealed to all.  Spa services were very good.  Unfortunately no singles activities so no way to meet other singles.  The on-deck Dancing Under the Stars event which was canceled due to rain was never rescheduled much to everyone's dismay.

Pros: Ship size, gourmet food, spa

Cons: No chapel for Sunday worship, no holiday decorations until 12/19 when I disembarked! And no singles events.
