Seven Seas Mariner is the world's first all-suite, all-balcony ship, as well as the first to offer dining by the famed Le Cordon Bleu® of Paris in Signatures, one of four single, open-seating restaurants. Catering to only 700 guests, she is one of the most spacious cruise ships afloat, and, her staff to guest ratio of 1 to 1.6 provides the highest level of personal service in the six-star tradition of Regent Seven Seas.

Entertainment

On just about any night on the Seven Seas Mariner, you'll be tempted to abandon any thoughts of going to bed at a sensible hour. There are dazzling live performances, thrilling games of chance, romantic cabaret acts, hilarious (and sometimes quite talented) Karaoke performances, plus dancing until you tell us when. Need a partner? One of our gentlemen hosts will be honored to spin you around the floor.

Constellation Theater

Dazzling Broadway musical revues are presented the state-of-the-art, two-tiered show lounge with its full-size proscenium stage. The dynamic production shows were created by renowned producer Peter Grey Terhune.

Casino

Enjoy blackjack, mini-craps, roulette, video poker, slot machines and the friendliest croupiers at sea in the elegant Casino. There are lessons, tournaments and other gaming events as well.

Lounges

Watch for falling stars in the romantic Observation Lounge accompanied by the grand piano or, perhaps, a cabaret artist. Watch for falling stars, dance to live DJ music or put on your own Karaoke performance at the Stars Nightclub. Or settle into a comfortable English club chair in the Connoisseur Club and light up a hand-rolled cigar from the climate-controlled humidor.

Dining

There are four open-seating main restaurants plus the Pool Grill -a surprising number for a ship of her size! Waiters recruited from some of the world's finest restaurants and hotels provide RSSC's renowned "Above & Beyond" service. A choice of fine, complimentary wine is poured nightly, or a professional sommelier will be pleased to discuss alternatives available for purchase from the Seven Seas Mariner's wine cellar. However, if you wish to savor a meal privately en suite, 24-hour room service is available.

Compass Rose Restaurant

The elegant Compass Rose is the ship's main restaurant, serving the finest continental cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The largest restaurant on board is spacious and stunning, with tables arranged so most guests have a picture window. Etched glass partitions make you feel as if you're dining in a much more intimate room. Menus include continental specialties as well as vegetarian and spa cuisine.

Signatures Restaurant

In Signatures, authentic and quality French cuisine is inspired by the legendary Le Cordon Bleu® of Paris. The only restaurants at sea operated under the auspices of Le Cordon Bleu are in the Regent fleet. Even with a classic and elegant French ambiance, the cuisine is far from traditional - a marvelous mixture of culinary delights as inventive and eclectic as tomorrow await you. (This unique venue is only open for dinner by reservation. The Dress Code requires jackets for Gentlemen.)

La Veranda

La Veranda is the venue for elaborate breakfast and lunch buffets in a more casual atmosphere - al fresco, if you choose. At dinnertime, the setting is light-hearted and festive with an enticing mix of regional specialties served. The dress code in La Veranda is always casual, even on formal nights.

Prime 7

The most intimate of restaurants on board, Prime 7 is a glamorous, contemporary interpretation of a classic American steakhouse. Along with avant-garde appetizers, savory soups and tantalizing desserts, the stars of the evening are the main courses with eight USDA Prime, dry-aged steaks to choose from, plus an enticing selection of lamb, pork, poultry and seafood specialties. (This restaurant is only open for dinner by reservations.)

Spa & Fitness

Devotees of health and fitness will find the latest exercise equipment in the window-walled Fitness Center. In the Aerobics Room next door, professional instructors lead fitness classes, while for the perfect denouement, the Carita Spa presents an elaborate array of spa and beauty treatments for the ultimate in relaxation and renewal.

Fitness Center & Aerobics Room

For health and fitness fans, you'll find all kinds of ways to work out. Almost the entire top deck is devoted to golf cages, paddle tennis and a full-circle jogging track. Fitness equipment includes lifecycles, free weights, striders, stairmasters, treadmills, weight benches, a Nautilus machine, workout mats and step benches. A fitness instructor is on hand to offer advice and to demonstrate the use of the equipment. One flight down is the expansive pool deck with its whirlpools and bar, where even on the sunniest days at sea there are always plenty of lounge chairs available.

Carita of Paris Spa

Seven Seas Mariner guests have access to one of the most exclusive land-based spa operations in the world, with its unrivalled approach to spa and beauty, services are tailored uniquely to the needs of each individual.

This upscale spa, whose patented techniques flow from its Parisian heritage, was founded with a single aim: to unveil "the touch of charm inside everyone with made-to-measure solutions". The Carita approach couples pleasure with effectiveness, sophistication with simplicity and research with the expertise of highly trained beauty therapists, hairdressers and nail technicians.

Activities

Guest Lecturers

On each voyage, a guest lecturer drawn from the highest ranks of the Diplomatic Service, leading universities or museums presents informal talks or slide shows about the unique places you'll be visiting. Learn about the Incas of Peru on a South America cruise, for example, or a lecture on Renaissance Florence on a voyage around Italy.

Bridge Masters, Gentlemen Hosts & Computer Classes

Guests who prefer to take a cyberpath to enlightenment will find 14 computers in the Club.com, 3 computers in the Internet Café, and 2 color and 3 laser printers, all available for a nominal charge. Free computer classes include Introduction to E-mail and Advanced Word Processing and Digital Photography may also be available. Or if bridge is your game, a certified Master Bridge instructor can teach you the fine art of contract or duplicate bridge in the card room.

Le Cordon Bleu Workshops

Our exclusive Le Cordon Bleu Class Culinaire is available on select sailings, a hands-on experience taught by chefs trained in the Le Cordon Bleu method of classic French cooking. There is a charge of $395 per guest for this exclusive course.

Club Mariner Youth Program

Club Mariner is a program offered on several RSSC ships during the summer months and the holiday seasons. Available on the Seven Seas Mariner, the Seven Seas Navigator, and the Seven Seas Voyager, Club Mariner offers a variety of activities for children from the ages of 6 to 11 and 12 to 17.

Young cruisers are divided into two age groups, and activities are designed for each group. Our Club Mariner counselors have many activities, including games, craft projects, movies, and "food fun" to make sure each child has a memorable experience. Teens help the counselor select the activities they prefer to do on their cruise.

Whether cruising to Alaska, the Baltic, Bermuda, the Caribbean, or on one of our Hanukkah/Christmas sailings, young cruisers will have a fun and memorable experience to take home with them.

Baltic cruise June 5, 2010

14 night Southampton to Stockholm on luxurious Seven Seas Voyager with oversized staterooms, walkin-closets and giant bathrooms with separate shower bath.  Fantastic alternative dining experiences.

Diverse Baltic ports, each with its own turbulent history.  Ship size allows the ship to port right in St. Petersburg compared to the larger ships docking a long way from the city. Accessibily of the staff very comforting. Fabulous cruise director - Lorraine was constantly servicing the guests and promoting the ship. A few issues with crowds for shore excursions, vibration on upper deck forward staterooms and hot water early in the morning.

Alternate dining restaurants were excellent.

Alaska June 2010 Seven Seas Navigator

Alaska - 6/2010

I sailed on the Navigator in November of 2009 just prior to her drydock for renovations. Overall they are a great improvement. The pool deck now has a wonderful buffet area - about 3 times as large as before which makes a greater variety of food available. There is also an icecream bar with assorted flavors and toppings available. They have also provided more tables to sit at whilst dining which makes it more accessible and comfortable.

The Galileo Lounge has been updated with new furniture and out on the aft there is new furniture with heating lamps directed down from above making it very comfortable- especially for Alaska.

The new Prime Seven dining venue is small but the menu is wonderful as is the food and service. The La Verandah is about the same but with a more varied menu. The only thing I found different is that in the evening it was all buffet whereas before the entree was served from the menu.

The Compass Rose restaurant has been updated with new furniture and looks very very nice. I found the menu more extensive and the quality of food superior to last year.

The shows were excellent and more professional than I have seen in the past. The Cirque production exciting and the best yet on the Regent Line. The aerialists were fantastic - a husband and wife team. The lead singers were wonderful and the dancers well trained. The production numbers were well choreographed however I felt that the show tunes selected could have had a more general appeal to the audience. 

The all inclusive shore excursions were of excellent quality. The Captain kept announcements to a minimum which was much appreciated. One comment I have is that they allow smoking in one area of the Stars Lounge - also very nicely updated - which surprised me. The odor of cigarette smoke is quite unpleasant for non smokers.

The staterooms are very spacious and well appointed with walk in closets and beautiful bathrooms with plenty of storage space.

All of the crew were friendly and efficient and keep the ship clean and comfortable. Our cabin attendant was very good. 60 to 70% of the crew are from the Philippines with the rest from Europe and other countries. The Senior Officers made themselves known and always spoke to the passengers. Captain McNeill is friendly and I think the crew responds to him. The crew show is always fun and he makes a point of being there for the show and to introduce many crew whom you never see. I think they appreciate that.

Regent is a wonderful cruise line and I would highly recommend it especially now that it is all inclusive.  The cruise was just about perfect in every way and I would certainly advise clients to sail on the Regent Line.

Arctic Adventure

Norwegian Fjords - 6/2010

Seven Seas Voyager Arctic Adventure sailing from Copenhagen through the Norwegian Fjords

The Voyager remains a luxury sailing vessel, with the most unique itineraries. Experiencing the beauty of Norway as it should be seen, on board the luxurious Seven Seas Voyager. I had the pleasure of sailing on her for a 15 night itinerary taking us within 200 nautical miles of the North Pole. We traversed the narrowest of Fjords, crossed the Arctic Circle, and sailed through the Ice Barrier.

Captain Mario was a highlight to our adventure. Warm and welcoming, his expertise kept us in calm seas with excellent weather for our enire journey.   

The people of Norway are proud of their country and it is experienced with the clean cities, warm and inviting people. Although this itinerary will not be duplicated in the next few years, keep your eyes open for the return  as I am certain it will sell out immediately.

Black Sea

Black Sea - 6/2010

Now that Regent includes a wide choice of complimentary shore excursions, the company truly does offer an all-inclusive cruise that is exceptional.

This was my first time sailing on the Mariner although I have been on the Voyager a number of times.      Of course, the two ships are very similar but I do miss the separate bath and shower that I have had on the Voyager.  On the Mariner the Coffee Connection is much better--a very inviting place to relax or have a quick bite.

The cuisine was outstanding.  Although the alternate dining rooms are very good, Compass Rose is almost unsurpassed.  The Canyon Ranch choices that are now on the menu are amazingly tasty and it is hard  to believe that they really are low in calories.

The new decor is very tasteful.   The suites are particularly smart looking.

The staff and officers really extended themselves.  I have never experienced such a helpful and alert staff at reception..

Pros: The warmth of the staff and the ship. Even when the Mariner is full, everything works smoothly and effortlessly.

Cons: I miss the formal evenings and passenger list on cruises less than 14 days.

Mariner Transatlantic

There is nothing better in my mind than an Atlantic Crossing.  Regent Seven Seas knows how to make it fantastic.  I have crossed the Atlantic a few times on other carriers, but  I must say that Regent  knows how to make everything nice and easy  and elegant.

 

 

 

 

 

 

My suite  was fantastic.   I could have slept all day and everyday because the bed was the most  incredible thing I have ever slept on. 

The whole layout of the ship is great.  You look at it from a Port and it looks so large.  You get on board and you truly feel like your on a smaller ship.  The layout of this ship is incredible.  The new Coffee Connection area is loved by everyone.  This is where you also find the Internet Area.  Very well laid out.

The food aboard the ship was excellent.  The Prime 7 was my favorite, followed by  Signatures. Compass Rose was also very good on most nights.  It did have it's down nights where service was not up to par, but that was only a couple of nights.  The Staff was very attentive and alert to your needs.

The Pool Bar and Grill was the favorite during lunch.  The buffet's would be set up everyday for lunch.  Food from all over the world.  This is where you can get the best "Cheese Burgers  or Hot Dogs" in the world.

They also have a new " ice cream" area set up which people seem to love.

This was by far one of the most memorable crossings that I have ever done.

Sydney/Singapore World Cruise Segment Feb 6-25, 2010

Sydney/Singapore - 2/2010

I boarded the ship in Sydney.  Getting on the ship was comfortable, organized, and efficient.  We had a delightful lunch on deck 12.  We got into our cabin about 3PM.  Everything was immaculate and the staff was very welcoming.

There were several days at sea.  There weren't as many good lecturers as I remember on past cruises.  Sandra Bowen was excellent but the astronomer wasn't very skilled.  The bridge person was outstanding and people loved her.  Everyone felt that she was an excellent teacher.

The entertainment was ok--nothing knocked our socks off.  They did a nice surprise by having a caberet show in the Horizon Lounge for the people who had dinner in Prime 7 one night.  This was unexpected and very intimate.

The staff was wonderful.  The ratio of staff to passengers isn't quite as many as I remember from former Regent cruises.   They worked very hard.  Sometimes we felt a bit rushed in the Compass Rose restaurant.

The food was excellent.  A great variety  of dishes was presented and a huge effort to please very different people's tastes and diets.   A person who had serious allergies felt the ship was very accommodating to her needs.  Lunch at Compass Rose wasn't so great one day.   It appears for lunch, it's much more varied in La Veranda.   La Veranda or out on deck is the place to be for a wonderful lunch.  They had some amazing barbeque lunches that were excellent.

There is a definite trend to downplaying formal nights.  This is a change from even 1 1/2 years ago.  Formal is "optional".  Many men wore suits or dark  jackets or opted to eat dinner at La Veranda more informally on formal "optional evenings".

The itinerary didn't  lend itself to much interesting sightseeing so the ship should have had some theme appeal.  There wasn't the depth and talent of past presenters for the days at sea.

The guest chef did one demonstration.  She was ok but not terribly compelling.

 

 

 

 

Pros: All inclusive, single clients really appreciate that, nice size ship. Ship has an excellent singles program and offer shared seating every night and at the specialty restaurants.

Cons: There were many days at sea. There should have been more interesting things to do during those days.

Great Value for the Luxury Cruise Market

Regent Seven Seas Voyager is one of the best values for cruises in the luxury market.

Regent Seven Seas  has some of the best values in the luxury market for their 2010 and 2011 cruises.  With the minimum cabin categories at 350 sq. ft and all have verandahs Regent offers  comfortable and spacious cabins, each with large bathrooms, walk in closets, and sitting areas.  The all inclusive program that is standard with Regent Seven Seas allows guests to travel without additional tipping, no room service charges, and complimentary wine with dinner, as well as no additional charge for alternative dining.  Most cruises for 2010 also provide complimentary shore excursions.  The fine dining and excellent service completes a fabulous cruise experience.

Regent Seven Seas is my cruise line of choice and many of my valued clients who have cruised many times with other cruise lines , agree.

All Inclusive Luxury

Peru - 3/2007

Five star luxury with all extras included!

Regent Mariner has large, comfortable suites with seating area and balcony large enough for two chairs and a table and stretching room.  Fantastic five star value because of the fact that cruise rates include all beverages, all gratuities, excellent food, gracious staff - ratio of staff to passengers is excellent .  The ship is very spacios and it feels like it is never crowded.

Fabulous Cruise Experience

Beautiful ship with all inclusive features and large suites

Regent Voyager offers all beverages, gratuities, large suites with seating area similar to a Junior Suite in a hotel room with comfortable balcony.  Their single seating dining is a definite plus and also offers three alternate dining options.  Deck plans are beautifully laid out and easy to maneuver and staff ratio is excellent - never a feel of a crowd.

Why So Noisy?

Mexico - 2/2008

Great service. Were able to get carpet changed but nothing could ease the noise in our cabin on Dolphin Deck. Was it the lifeboats below?

Pre-Cruise: This was our first cruise on Princess, but we have cruised on Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and NCL.  The trip started with a three-night pre-cruise stay in Los Angeles at the Belamar Hotel in Manhattan Beach…great location near restaurants, shops and tours to Los Angeles.  We did not use the Princess pre-cruise hotel next to the airport because there was nothing around it within walking distance and it was more expensive than the Belamar. We did not buy any transfers from Princess because we don’t like to wait for the buses at disembarkation.

Embarkation: Took cab from hotel at 11:30 to pier.  Cost from the Belamar was $52, traffic was light because it was a Saturday.  We arrived just before noon and embarkation was underway.  Very smooth embarkation (we had printed out our Boarding Passes in advance).  We went straight to our mini-suite on Dolphin Deck and dropped off carryon luggage.  Cabin décor was a bit dated with lots of light aqua colors and old-style lighting,  but the cabin was very spacious with excellent storage space. Bed linens had been upgraded to high thread-count cotton sheets and duvets.  Beds have very thin mattresses and were quite hard.  We noticed an odor outside the bathroom area, but were pretty hungry and headed out in search of food.

We went up to the Horizon Court for lunch.  The food stations were arranged so close together that it was very crowded, with people going in all different directions….it was simply chaos with very crowded tables.  And most people weren’t even on the ship yet!  Food was pretty good, but beverage stations were very far away, out of ice, and had very bad fountain iced tea.

Cabins: We returned to our mini-suite on Dolphin Deck and one suitcase had arrived and the other two followed shortly, well before our dinner at 6:00 pm.  The odor in the cabin was so strong that we asked our room steward to do something about it.  He wanted to spray a room deodorizer and wait to see how the odor was after dinner.  We said that wasn’t going to work and asked to speak with his supervisor.  She came very quickly, assessed the problem and said that they would replace the carpet tomorrow.  We said that we couldn’t sleep in the cabin with this smell.  She checked with her supervisor and they replaced the carpet while we were at dinner.  It made all the difference…not only was the odor gone but the carpet what a nice light color with a more modern pattern that brightened the entire cabin.  This was superb customer service.  The next day, we did notice that they were replacing carpet in two other cabins not far from ours.

All throughout the cruise, we could hear very loud, rhythmic groaning-like sounds as well as a very loud (not cabin) door banging shut.  The Dolphin Deck is right over the life boats so perhaps they were swaying and causing the noise.  Also, because the cabins on the Caribe Deck above are set back further into the ship, our balcony on the Dolphin Deck was totally exposed.  The balcony on the cabin above was also over our cabin, and we could hear constant moving of furniture and sliding of patio door.

Food: We had dinner at the early 6:00 pm seating in the Canaletto main dining room.  Since all of our prior cruises had been on ships with two-story dining rooms, our first impression was one of confinement, but we soon grew to really like the more intimate space. but the noise level was very high.  We were traveling with some friends of ours and we had our own table for four.  Over the entire cruise, the food in the dining room was excellent…far better than on Royal Caribbean.  Service was also outstanding, including my request to bring hot tea and three glasses of ice to the table for me to make real ice tea.

One night we ate at the Desert Rose steakhouse ($15 per person) and the steak we had in the main dining room was better than the one we got in the Desert Rose.  One night we ate at Sabitini’s ($20 per person).  We had never experienced their type of food presentation before.  They gave us menus that included starters but we only ordered our entrees.  They brought out small amounts of all of the starters for us to try, which was quite filling and then we were served our entrees.  Food was very good.  There were no other specialty restaurants on board.  We enjoyed having the set dining room plan instead of the 'anywhere dining' so we didn’t have to worry about making a lot of reservations. 

We used room service every morning for breakfast.  The menu was limited but always arrived on time or a few minutes early which really kept us on schedule. Again, excellent service.

Formal night was on the first sea day.  While we were at dinner, there was a loud rumble and the ship slowly stopped.  The Captain came on immediately to say that there was a problem with the electrical system and he would keep us updated.  We had lights in the dining room, but other areas of the ship were in the dark, including some cabins.  Generators were operating much of the lighting.  The Captain continued to give us updates about problems with the starboard electrical system that had to be rebooted by the computers.  We went on to the Princess Theatre not knowing if the show would go on.  Several times the stage lights came on and ran through lighting cycles.  The Captain finally came back on to say that everything was running smoothly, the show would go on, and we would not miss any of our ports and it was all true.  The communication from the Captain was excellent.

Entertainment in the Princess Theatre was always very good…better than we had experienced on most of our other cruises.  The production shows were great and the comedians were hilarious.  The layout of the theater, however, did not include an upper level.  We later learned on a tour of the backstage area that the theater only seats about 800 people.  We had to arrive at the shows 30 minutes early to get a decent seat, and many people had to stand at the back of the theater.  The Skywalker Lounge was wonderful.  We tried to get into a production show in the Vista Lounge, but there was no seating.  That was a disappointment.

Pool areas on sea days were very crowded and we could never find a lounge chair close to the pools.  Many chairs were being “saved”, and we didn’t see any pool attendants clearing them off.  This is so unfair to the other passengers.  The only chairs that we could often find were on the second level of the solarium, and even though the roof was open, these chairs were in the shade.

Excursions:  We booked Princess excursions for all three ports.  We had never been to theses cities. All these excursions were well organized with no problems gathering on the piers. The first was “Hacienda, City Tour and Tequila Factory” at Puerto Vallarta.  We had a nice air-conditioned bus for transportation.  The buffet lunch was not so good, but we enjoyed the folkloric entertainment after lunch.  There was not much to see at the Tequila Factory but the tasting of six different tequilas was quite a highlight. 

“Best of Mazatlan” again had a nice air-conditioned bus but there was not very much to see other than coastline.  At stops for photos, we were swarmed by people selling souvenirs.  We went to the old Cathedral and over to the Golden Center were we had about 45 minutes for shopping.  There were three cruise ships in town and everything was really crowded.  After shopping, we went to a lovely hotel and had a wonderful buffet lunch with two free drinks on a terrace on the beach.  We returned to the ship on crazy “golf cart” taxis. 

We chose the “Premier Beach Break” on Cabo.  Tenders were used at this port and getting off the ship was very well organized.  We went to a beautiful hotel on the beach and the tour had its own area with Balinese style lounge beds, lounge chairs and lots of great towels.  The downside of the tour was they began serving us chips and salsa at 10:30 followed by a fajita lunch at 10:45 and we were not so hungry.  The tour description included a taco bar, which we didn’t have.  The tour description also said the tour was 9:30 – 1:30 but at 11:45 we had to gather to get on the bus to take us to the tender area.  The tender line was so long……but we finally got back on board.  The ship left the port at 2:00pm, much too soon!

Disembarkation:  We arrived at Los Angeles about 5:00am instead of the scheduled 7:00am.  Perhaps we could have spent two more hours in Cabo.  The disembarkation went very smoothly as we were called by colors from various lounges.  Luggage in the terminal was very well organized and easy to access.  We took a cab to the airport for about $45.

Hawaii Cruise

Pre-Cruise:
We arrived on the Saturday (October 25th) before the cruise. We had transfers to the ship and stayed at the Marriott -Airport. Very nice hotel. We were late getting in (5:30 pm pacific: 8:30 pm eastern) so we dined at the sports bar in the hotel. Food was good but quite expensive.
Transfer from hotel to ship was smooth and uneventful. Princess has a nice plan for moving a lot of people from hotel to ship and it works. You get a colored ticket and when your ticket color is called then you board the bus. Trip to pier is about 35-40 minutes unless traffic is heavy.

Embarkation:
From the time we arrived at the pier to walking into our room was less than 15 minutes. I was very impressed with this. when we walked into our mini-suite, we had an even bigger surprise. Our luggage had already arrived and was ready to be unpacked.

Room:
We booked a mini-suite on the Dolphin deck. Room was clean though a little dated but not enough to matter to us. The room was very large for the two of us and plenty of storage. I like having the balcony to go out and relax on. Though not large, these balconies were quite comfortable for 2 people. Princess really needs to look at improving the mattresses on their beds. They get real hard very quickly. Duvet was very comfoprtable. Made going to sleep a lot easier for some reason.

Food:
Because we prefer to dine by ourselves, we ate mostly at the buffet. Food was pretty good for a buffet. Plenty of selections, though stations are a little too close together. We did dine int the Crown Steak House three nights and the food was very good. The cost is $25/person but you can eat as much as you want for that price. It is well worth the cost. Had room service 4 times and food menu, though limited was good. We had a pizza one night and it was very good or we were really hungry.

Entertainment:
Though we did not see all the shows, the ones we watched were really good and some of the acts in the lounges were very entertaining.

Excursions:
We did not use any of the excursions. We rented a car on each of the 4 islands we visited and did our own sightseeing. Highly recommend doing this but be aware of your time frame and how long it may take to get back. We never missed a sailing but on th efirst Island we had to take some short cuts back in order to make it on time. Our fault not the cruise line.

Service:
95 % of the service we had was awesome. Could not ask for anything better (especially room steward). Two places where we felt service was lacking was on the open decks and in the International cafe area. In both places servers seemed to spend more time walking around ignoring people than checking to see if they need anything to drink. In the International Cafe we had them come clean our table and not even ask if wanted anything. More than once the bartender had to tell the servers to see what we wanted to drink. This not only happened to us but to others as well. The servers seemed to be more receptive to the drinkers of alcoholic drinks than those of us drinking cokes or coffee. Guess they figured they could make more on tips that way.

Disembarkation:
Our flight from LAX was for 11:30 and Princess said they could not provide transfers for us that early (Princess wants a 12:30 or later departure for transfer) , so we did the walk-off disembarkation and got a cab to LAX. Cab fare is $56 one way. We got off the ship and through customs with no problems, other than hauling luggage all over the place (makes you appreciate having someone else do it for you).

Pros:
Loved the 4 days of sailing before getting to the islands. Gave us a chance to rest and relax. Getting to visit four different islands was very nice. Plenty to do or not do on the ship. Quite a few options if you wanted to do the excursions. On the whole, Princess really knows how to do customer service right.

Cons:
14 days got to be a little long. I guess after enjoying Hawaii so much, everything seemed like a let down after that. Not a Problem for princess but some of the passengers were extremely rude. They were of the more mature age and seemed to think they had a right of entitlement, whetehr in the food line or getting on the elevator. We are not spring chickens, but we were embarrassed by the actions of some of our "elders". As mentioned before, Princess really needs to look at improving there mattresses as they are not comfortable at all.

Overall:
We would do this cruise again but not right away. Thjs was our third cruise with Princess and so far, other than a few minor incidents, we are very pleased with sailing with them.
